Welcome to beginner wheel throwing with Shayna Stevenson! Held from Sept 11th - October 23rd, 9:30am - 12:30pm.

Course cost: $430 including all clay, glazes, firings, and pottery supplies.

Get ready to flex those creative skills (and arm muscles) as you dive into the world of wheel throwing. This is four weeks of spinning, shaping, slipping, and maybe quietly swearing under your breath—a crash course in making real pottery on the wheel. Whether you're here for the meditative repetition or the messy magic, we’ve got you.

You'll spend the first three weeks on the wheel in our studio, learning how to center, pull, shape, and ask all the questions. In the final week, we’ll guide you through glazing—what it is, how it works, and how to do it without panicking. One sleeve of clay is included, plus access to all studio glazes, and kiln firings are on us, too.

No experience? No problem. We’ll show you the ropes and help you make work you’re proud of (and a few pieces you’ll lovingly hide in the back of your kitchen cabinet for many years to come).

All finished work will be ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks.

House Rules:

  • All courses are for adults (18+) unless otherwise stated
  • We require a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice to reschedule your spot — please reach out
  • Missed courses or classes cannot be refunded or credited
  • We may photograph student work for promotional use — but we value and respect your privacy and comfort above all else
  • Clean up and safety are essential to every potters' practice; the last 25 minutes of class are for cleaning up our joyful mess
