Welcome to Pottery Foundations with Jonah Strub! Held from September 15th - November 10th, 6:30 - 9:30pm.
*Note: There is no class on October 13 due to Thanksgiving
Course cost: $580 including all clay, glazes, firings, and pottery supplies.
Big-time texture. Big-time technique. Pop on the wheel, pinch a pot, pull a handle—this is the place where it all comes together. Eight weeks of exploring clay from every angle: hand building, wheel throwing, glazing, and the sweet spot where it all overlaps.
You’ll start with the basics of clay and hand building, dabble in wheel throwing, then mix and match your skills like you’ve been doing this all along. One sleeve of clay is on us, glazes and firings too. Questions? Ask away. Encouragement? Non-negotiable. No experience needed; just a little curiosity and a willingness to give it a try.
It’s the best of both worlds: grounded and expressive. Kind of like if Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had a baby who grew up to teach ceramics with a perfect center pull and an easy confidence.
What you can expect:
Weeks 1 & 2: Handbuilding
Week 3: Wheel, baby
Week 4: Handbuilding or wheel throwing (Dealer’s choice)
Week 5: Glazing day
Weeks 6 & 7: Full access chaos (wheel & handbuilding again)
Week 8: Final glaze day
Tap in. The kiln is hot.
All finished work will be ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks.
