Creative Mornings for Kids at The Pottery Club

Class Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 p.m.- 12:00 p.m. (One week at a time, with an outdoor day on Tuesday mornings-details below.)

Course Cost: $250, including all materials supplies and a small mid-morning snack. 

Join us for Creative Mornings for Kids, where imagination meets the joy of making. This engaging program invites kids to explore their creativity through hands-on pottery experiences. Designed for young artists, our half-day classes provide a fun and supportive environment for kids to express themselves and develop new skills.

Each week, your child will work on a variety of exciting projects. From wheel throwing and handbuilding with clay to painting their masterpieces, there's something for every little artist to enjoy. Our experienced instructors will guide them through various techniques, fostering both creativity and self-confidence.

Tuesday: Outdoor Studio Day

On Tuesday, we take the studio outdoors for a guided morning at a nearby park.

Children will meet at the studio at 9:00am before heading together with our instructor to a local green space, where we’ll explore the connection between clay and the natural world. Using found textures, leaves, and organic materials, participants will create impressions in clay, sketch and paint from observation, and learn how ceramics begin in the earth itself.

This session is designed as a slower, exploratory experience that encourages curiosity, movement, and connection to materials in their natural environment.

The program will run rain or shine, with adjustments made to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all participants.

What your child can expect:

Weekly Creative Projects: Kids will work on a series of pottery pieces throughout the week, from functional forms like plates, plant pots, and utensil holders to beginner-friendly wheel-thrown bowls. They’ll shape, decorate, and refine their work over multiple days.

Hands-On Learning: Children will learn essential pottery making skills, how to paint with underglaze. and other pottery techniques.

Fun & Friendship: Sign up with a friend or new friends while collaborating on projects and sharing their artistic ideas.

House Rules:

• All courses are for children ages 8 to 12. Get in touch if you’d like to request an age exception.
• Class purchases are non-refundable.
• Please ensure children arrive on time and are dressed for creative fun.
• Things will get a little messy, and aprons will be provided.
