Day and Time

Curious about pottery but not ready for a multi-week commitment? This one-off breakfast-themed class is a relaxed, hands-on introduction to handbuilding.

In this session, you’ll create pieces designed to elevate your morning routine. Think bowls, mugs, egg cups, ceramic egg cartons, toast holders, vessels for your favourite condiments, spoon rests, or anything else your breakfast table might need.

You’ll explore foundational techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building, with plenty of room to experiment and follow your ideas. Each step will be guided by one of our wonderful instructors. No previous experience required, and no pressure to make anything “perfect.”

This is an informal, creative session designed for beginners and pottery-experienced folks alike. Think process over product, but with plenty of opportunity to leave with pieces you’ll actually use.

During the session, you’ll build your work in clay and have the opportunity to paint your pieces using our collection of underglazes. We’ll then fire your work and finish it in a clear glaze.

Made two pieces and can’t choose? No problem. We’re happy to glaze and fire an additional item for $10.

Course cost: $75 per person or $140 for two people. (Includes a set amount of clay, use of tools, instruction, and the firing of one piece.)

Finished work is typically ready for pickup 4-5 weeks. We’ll hold completed pieces for 1 month from the date they’re ready. Anything unclaimed after that time will be recycled or responsibly discarded to keep our shelves moving and the studio functional (unless we specifically hear from you that you need a bit more time).

Want to keep it simple, make something once, and move on? No prob. Let us know if you don’t wish to keep your piece and we’ll take care of the rest by recycling your clay.

It’s thoughtful, tactile, a little messy, and deeply satisfying; a great way to get your hands into clay and see what pottery might become for you.
